It may seem hard to believe, looking at a 16-point loss to #15 Wisconsin, but there was improvement in this game. The offensive line looked competent, and because of that, Dedrick Mills had a break-out performance, racking up 188 yards against a stout defense. And Adrian Martinez looked better than he has most of the season. In this week’s Over Reaction, Greg Mehochko, Jon Johnston, and Nate McHugh talk about the good and the bad that continues to plague the Huskers. And since there was one Husker W this weekend in men’s athletics, we also talk a few minutes about Nebrasketball. This week on the Five Heart Podcast, Greg, Hoss, and Jon get you ready for Saturday’s match-up with Wisconsin. And to do that, we spend a little time talking with Tyler Hunt, Podcast Manager at Bucky’s 5th Quarter. We talk with Tyler about Wisconsin’s expectations heading into the year and how the losses to Illinois and Ohio State may have derailed post-season plans. We talk about the elephant in the backfield known as Jonathon Taylor, and what weaknesses, if any, the Badgers possess. After we let Tyler depart, we talk about why Wisconsinians (Wisconsegians - if we follow the Io_a way of naming things) are so happy. We discuss the youth on the Husker team and why we likely won’t see any more freshmen on the field in their redshirt year. And we do spend a few minutes talking about Nebraska’s second-favorite son, Garrett Nelson, as well as Damion Jackson being awarded Blackshirts. Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830. Well, the Huskers are now 0-2. Fred is now facing a decent South Dakota State team who could very easily make his record at Nebraska 0-3.In this week’s episode Patrick and Kevin go over the loss to Southern Utah and the road ahead. Kevin also gives some insight to DC winters and its comparison to those up in his home state of Michigan. What’s going on? What are the problems? What do we, as good armchair point guards, think should be done? What can be done? Is there any hope for Nebrasketball?Tune in and find out.Follow us on Twitter at @Bangs&DagsFollow Kevin on Twitter at @SpartyOnHuskersFollow Patrick on Twitter at @PatrickGerhartFollow Nate on Twitter at @nmchugh85 Learn more about your ad choices. Your five-time National Champion Nebraska Cornhuskers were off this weekend, but there were four really good games played in the Big Ten this week, and one blowout that includes an Ohio State University. This week’s Over Reaction episode has Greg and Jon from the Five Heart Podcast and Kevin Knight, one of our newest contributors and a Spartan fan. So his pain over their incredible meltdown against Illinois is palpable. And Jon was on the sideline for the Minnesota win over Penn State. Meanwhile, two of Nebraska’s last three opponents were involved in a battle, and Purdue something something Northwestern.Subscribe to the show on one of the following podcast apps, will arrive on your device or playlist automatically.PodBean – Apple Podcasts – Google Play – Stitcher – Spotify! Well, this is our 150th episode. And in it, we do our best to talk about anything BUT Husker football. Let's face it - it's a coffin on roller skates at the moment. It will turn around. I don't know when. No one does. In this episode, we talk about making a change at starting QB, bible references, wasted defensive efforts, mind-boggling play-call, Nebrasketball, the Joker, and, uh...bedroom performance enhancers.Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830. Well there you have it folks. It is going to be a long year if Nebraska plays like it did in the opening game against UC Riverside. In fact, I think they probably go winless if they continue to play that way.Unfortunately Patrick was unable to join me (Nate) for this week’s episode. I tell you why. It might blow your mind.So I took some time to let you know where I think things went wrong. There were some good things but not as many as bad.In fact, I watched what went wrong on every single 3 pointer made by UC Riverside. Maybe you’ll enjoy my perspective or not. Either way please subscribe and download! As always:Follow us on Twitter at @Bangs&DagsFollow Kevin on Twitter at @SpartyOnHuskersFollow Patrick on Twitter at @PatrickGerhartFollow Nate on Twitter at @nmchugh85Please Subscribe!!!!! Hi friends. Greg Mehochko, Corn Nation Podcast Manager here. This morning, we're going to entertain you with great post-game commentary from Jon Johnston, Husker Mike, and Zack Grunder, as they talk about the overwhelming disappointing outing in West Lafayette yesterday.I'll be honest. I don't know what to make of this season anymore. I hate to have an apathetic attitude towards Husker football. That's not how I am. That's not how Husker Nation is. And I'd be lying if I said it was anything more then your undying loyalty that drew me in to Husker fandom in the mid-00's, the Bill Callahan era, when things weren't going right but we always felt like the ship would be righted, the course corrected. And I STILL feel like those things will happen. I feel like Scott Frost is the guy to get Nebraska Football back on track. Because as we've stated before on Corn Nation, if we run off Scott Frost, do we really think any other coach will come to Lincoln? We ride with Frost, or high water. But after the Purdue game, where defensive weaknesses were exploited in the same way they were against Indiana, I do wonder if we have to endure 5+ more years of Scott Frost's ENTIRE staff.I haven't listened to this episode yet. I will. It will be part of my Monday listening while I'm at work. But give it a listen and leave your feedback below. You all are awesome and Corn Nation wouldn't be anything without you.Sincerely,Greg Maddog Mehochko Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

There was a good amount of discord in this episode of the Five Heart Podcast. Jon and Hoss yell at each other. Greg steps out of the line of fire, but tries to keep the show on track as we discuss the loss to Indiana. Who stepped up and who shoulders the bulk of the responsibility for Loss Number Four? We also get into the hot topic around the NCAA these days, that of Name, Image, and Likeness, and a student-athlete's ability to generate income from theirs. This week, it's Nebraska at Purdue. Whose dynamic playmakers will have the better day? We'll find out Saturday. Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830. This was recorded Saturday evening a little bit after the Indiana loss.Several CN staff are on the call:Jon Johnston
Paul Dalen
Zach Grunder
Jill Ranchbabe
Evan Weeeeebeeeeee
Paul makes the declaration that defensive coordinator Eric Chinander should be fired or find another job. I ask him to make a case for it, and he does a good job of doing that. There is a fair amount of profanity, so you know. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
