Old Man Movie Summer continues with the hoops playground classic White Men Can’t Jump. This show quietly became 33 years old this year which surprised people I mentioned this to - including myself.
Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson star as Sidney Deane and Billy Hoyle and from their 1st showdown - nope Sidney wasn’t going to Sizzler - their chemistry is electric, even if Wesley’s hoop skills were…problematic.
The action is fun, the dialogue is snappy, there was a legendary cameo by Marques Johnson and the trash talking was practically its own character. (How was there not a Larry Bird cameo??)
Pop in for the fun, pile into the comments and at least give us a Go Big Red. If enough of you tune in tomorrow night, I promise to lower the temp in Omaha and Lincoln by 20 degrees - Promise!!

On this special episode of Monday Night Therapy, Greg filled in for Minnie Hunt, who was away due to a family matter. Greg was joined by longtime podcast contributors Hoss Reuter and Corn Nation founder Jon Johnston for a lively, nearly two-hour conversation that felt like a “greatest hits” night for the show. The trio discussed the start of Nebraska football fall camp, highlighting the physical transformation of tight ends like Heinrich Haarberg and Carter Nelson. Hoss emphasized how the roster is finally starting to look like a legitimate Big Ten team.
They also debated quarterback Dylan Raiola’s potential, the new offensive system under Dana Holgorsen, and whether Nebraska can hit 40 points per game. Special teams woes from 2023 were a hot topic, as was the optimism surrounding new coordinator Mike Ekeler. John made a bold 10–2 season prediction, and the panel agreed Nebraska’s offense, identity, and special teams execution will be key to success in 2025.
The show closed with nostalgia, jokes about blue chew, fan comments from the chat, and a reminder of how far the program has come under Matt Rhule. It was an off-the-rails but heartfelt night for hardcore Husker fans.

In this lively episode of the Five Heart Podcast, hosts Greg and Minnie recap Minnie’s recent experience attending Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas. It was her first time attending, and she offered a behind-the-scenes look, sharing anecdotes about mingling with media members, seeing Nebraska’s contingent up close, and even getting a question in to Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz.
Minnie enthusiastically shared her impressions of the event, including her admiration for the charisma of coaches like PJ Fleck and Matt Rhule—though her praise for rival coaches earned her some humorous accusations from Greg and the chat of entering the “fan transfer portal.” She admitted to clapping for Matt Rhule (a media no-no) and asked Dylan Raiola if he’s still boxing, which he confirmed.
Other highlights included:
Minnie reporting that Matt Rhule spoke highly of the current team, even referencing Scott Frost in an unexpected way.
Discussions about Nebraska’s favorable schedule, the team’s playoff hopes (with Minnie boldly giving them a 9.5/10 shot), and concerns about the running back room depth.
A spirited back-and-forth over Big Ten vs. SEC conference scheduling, with both hosts agreeing the SEC should move to nine conference games.
Side tangents on Hulk Hogan and Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, 80s nostalgia, and dream rivalry matchups.
Promotion of Minnie’s Sunday YouTube show “The Ladies of College Football.”
The show wrapped up with jokes about Minnie possibly betraying the Huskers, plenty of chat-room teasing, and a promise to return for preseason predictions before Nebraska’s opener.

Join us this Tuesday night at 8pm CST as All the Right Movies will cover North Dallas Forty starring Omaha’s own Nick Nolte as well as Mac Davis.
The movie was based on the Peter Gent tell-all book of the same name and is not only hilarious, but manages to also capture the immense pain players go through and how through all the garbage they still love the game.
It’s not much of a secret the two main characters were based on Gent and Don Meredith in their Cowboys days - the only thing those uniforms are missing is the star on the helmet. You will also recognize John Matuzak and you can bet he wasn’t acting too much with his rage-fueled monologue to the coaches near the end.
Don’t let the 1979 release date stop you - yes, the scenes, especially of the two games, weren’t exactly shot in NFL facilities. But the performances, especially Nolte’s, ring true and deliver plenty of laughs.
Need one last selling point? The NFL and the Cowboys wanted NOTHING to do with this film.
North Dallas Forty - see you there.

In this special episode of Monday Night Therapy, Minnie Hunt hosts from Las Vegas ahead of Big Ten Media Days, joined by co-host Fred Sacco, decked out in a vintage Ahman Green jersey. Minnie shares a travel saga involving her car breaking down after a scenic road trip with her daughters through Utah. Fortunately, a mobile mechanic came to the rescue, allowing her to stay upbeat for the week.
The episode previews Nebraska’s presence at Big Ten Media Days, highlighting players like Dylan Raiola, Deshaun Singleton, and Henry Lutovsky. Minnie promises behind-the-scenes coverage and asks fans to submit questions for coaches and players. She and Fred discuss Dylan’s recent youth football camp, Michigan’s ongoing controversies, and Nebraska’s roster strengths and weaknesses—especially the defensive line and offensive line depth.
Chat contributions keep things lively with debates about Iowa, kicker confidence, Fred’s potential full-time co-hosting gig, and whether Nebraska can go 3-0 before facing Michigan. Minnie reflects on her journey as a fan and her excitement about representing The Voice of College Football. The episode ends with Minnie promising updates from Vegas, some roulette bets, and encouragement to subscribe and follow her Media Days adventure.

Join us Tuesday night at 8pm CST as Bloodsport finally gets its long-awaited turn on All the Right Movies!
A member of my Top 50 Sports Movies series, this chopsocky classic which put Jean Claude Van Damme on the map, easily tops the sports movie charts in the category of Illegal Underground Hong Kong No Holds Barred Tournaments.
Any red-blooded male with cable in the 80’s watched this show about 50 times minimum and discussed just how quickly they could get a new hand-painted flip-sign up showing the new Kumite world record for fastest knockout.
This movie set the stage for so much which came after. UFC? Please. All they did was throw up a cage instead of letting someone win by pushing their opponent off the mat. Oberyn “The Red Viper” getting his head squashed on Game of Thrones after celebrating too early?
Completely ripped off from Ray Jackson getting head stomped by Chong Li after doing the same damn thing.
As always, the movie’s eligible categories will by ranked by their equivalent Nebraska Cornhuskers coaching legend (or Mike Riley) categories. Tune in by clicking the link above and be ready to chime in to the comments -

On this lively episode of Monday Night Therapy, host Minnie Hunt kicks off the evening with greetings to a chat full of passionate Nebraska fans. The show features spirited banter, preseason optimism, and light-hearted jabs at Scott Frost’s recent comments. Minnie previews her upcoming trip to Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas, sharing her excitement about road-tripping through Zion and possibly interviewing Nebraska’s quarterback, Dylan Raiola.
Discussion centers around Nebraska’s offseason buzz, including debates about whether Matt Rhule deserves “10 out of 10” status as head coach and how preseason media polls wildly differ on the Huskers’ national standing. A consistent message emerges: Nebraska must prove itself on the field, especially in the season opener against a potentially underrated Cincinnati squad. Fans also reminisce about painful past losses, debate Big Ten vs. Big 12 strength, and weigh in on the NIL era and coaching ceilings.
The episode closes with nostalgic and hilarious fan stories, a discussion of EA Sports College Football 25 ratings, and the late arrival of co-host Greg, who adds levity with dad humor and scouting insights. The mood is optimistic and communal, building anticipation for what many hope will be Nebraska’s most exciting season in years.

On this lively episode of the Five Heart Podcast, hosts Greg and Minnie dive headfirst into Husker news and fan emotions. They kick things off with the recent controversy surrounding former Nebraska head coach Scott Frost’s comment that Nebraska was “the wrong job”—a remark that fired up fans and drew sharp criticism from the hosts. They debate whether the blame lies more with Frost for his poor media presence or with clickbait journalism looking to rile up Husker Nation.
The show then transitions into a spirited discussion about the most hated teams in the Big Ten. Fans weighed in via live chat, and hosts shared their personal top-five lists—Greg revealing his disdain for Iowa, Michigan, and Northwestern, going as far as making a controversial declaration about a recent and yet somehow beloved “tradition.” Meanwhile, Minnie vented about Indiana, Michigan, and the arrogance of UCLA’s new head coach.
The podcast also featured a marathon reading of college football’s top 25 rivalry names (not games), courtesy of The Athletic, which drew mixed reactions from the live chat. Despite technical hiccups and spilled wine, the show wrapped with laughs, debates, and a reminder that “Five Heart is all the heart you need.”

A made-for-HBO movie from 1987 starring William Peterson and Virginia Madsen when their careers were just getting going, Long Gone tells the hilarious and heartfelt story of a season in the lives of the Tampico Stogies, a terrible southern independent minor league team.
Whose fortunes are about to change.
Peterson plays player/manager Cecil “Stud” Cantrell, Who has many life rules no one should follow and Madsen is Dixie Lee Boxx who is old enough to order beer for breakfast.
Long Gone can be watched in full for free on YouTube!
And thank me you will after watching this hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking , bawdy flick which just happens to have a great baseball story as well.

Other topics include quarterback rankings—highlighting Dylan Raiola’s #3 Big Ten spot—plus chat praise for Garrett Nelson, Tommy Armstrong Jr., and Tommy Frazier’s post-football careers.
