We’re doing the unthinkable - revisiting the loss to those Buffaloes. That’s about it. Hoss was there. He had some nice things to say about most of the CU fans he encountered. And we preview this weekend’s game against NIU. A few other quick-hit topics are on tap as well. Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830. In this most recent episode we talk about the fact that Nebrasketball could be on national TV a lot next year. Which is a win for us. More exposure for our new found and relatively unknown team!We also dive into the Heartland Hoops Classic which will take place in Grand Island Nebraska this February. The reason why we touch upon this high school tournament is that Millard North will be playing IMG Academy from Florida. Not only will there be a plethora of top rated national talent there but three (well, as we find out two) Nebraska targets will be be playing. Finally, we go into our top 5 favorite albums. As usual we have fun and you will have to listen to find out more. We have an audio-conference system. It’s what I use to do my podcasts. It’s incredibly easy. We used it, Saturday after the game. We got together to talk about what happened. Jon is joined in the conference call by Evan, Patrick, and Nate. It’s a rather depressing and disappointing conversation. Writing this Monday night, I’m still in a funk over this loss. I realize you’re supposed to move on, but man, a whole year of talkingabout Colorado and we lose after having a 17-0 halftime lead. I don’t remember much about what we said other than “FUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK”, which is appropriate given the circumstances. We’ll have more on the next Five Heart Podcast later in the week. But listen to this one, relive the heartache. Because the worse it feels now, the better it will feel when Big Red is returned to its former glory. Learn more about your ad choices. The most important question to be answered in the 17th episode of Of Bangarangs and Daggers is the following: Is it actual “camping” if you sleep on a nice queen bed style inflatable mattress?Oh also, two Nebraska basketball players make the top 25 list of impact Junior College Transfers. We end this episode with our top five most overrated television shows. Spoiler alert, Patrick’s #1 (and I knew it was coming) is probably my favorite show of all-time. This episode I talk with Jason Kirk of the newly formed web site and experience called Banner Society. Banner Society is a combination of SBNation.com’s college football writing staff merged with Every Day Should Be Saturday merged with every social media platform out there with the exception of Facebook because Facebook is a terrible place. We talk about his perception of Nebraska. "You can’t properly cover college football and do it in a totally sober serving manner. This sport has been insane for nearly two centuries, if you want to do it justice, you can’t veer toward normal."You should: Listen to this podcast and subscribe. Check out the Banner Society web site. Follow them on twitter, twitch, and instagram. Check out the podcasts - PAPN and Shutdown Fullcast and subscribe (if you like them). This week on the Five Heart Podcast...Hoss is out. Jon Johnston is out. It's just Greg and special guest/co-host Paul Dalen. And the first topic of conversation? Armadillos. But then we put a bow on the series of game previews, discussing Maryland and Iowa. Let's be honest, we don't give a about the Maryland game, but we all have November 29 circled on our calendars. Leftover turkey, fighting over cheap electronics, and serving up a 50-burger for the Squawkeyes. During the course of the show, we also talk about two Huskers suspended indefinitely, Mo Washington's uncertain status, two new running back recruits, and one match-up with the underwhelming Jaguars. You missed us together, didn’t you? Well Patrick and Nate are back at it again from a week apart. Did you really think we were going to give you another week without our semi witty banter? In this weeks episode we find our fearful hosts talking about the Big Ten Conference Schedule for the men’s basketball squad. What do we like about it? What don’t we like about it? What do we not know about it? Do we even know what we are talking about? We also hit on Nate’s little interview last week. He did a great job and we recommend you listen to it if you haven’t. As usual, we talk smack on our Corn Nation Radio brethren. If anything, listen to us for that. Oh yeah, Nate likes a certain band that Patrick does not. Listen to find out who! This week I talk with Matt Brown of SBNation. Matt is Associate Director of College Brands, in other words, my boss. We talk about the current state of college football with regards to finances and attendance at games, and how, because of student debt, that college football might skip a generation who would otherwise be contributing to their alma maters. Here’s the Blurb of this episode: I‘m an Ohio State guy. My alma mater has to play Rutgers every single year, and those games are going to suck for 30 years. And every time they’re playing Rutgers, they’re not playing Nebraska, they’re not playing Wisconsin, they’re not playing Iowa, they’re not playing some schools that Ohio State has had a connection with for 100 years.
