This week’s episode, I speak with Kenny Bell.I am assuming you don’t need an introduction to whom Kenny Bell is, but I cover that in the introduction anyway. We talk about:NIL - Name, Image, and Likeness - should college athletes be able to make money from themselves? An interesting perspective on Universities building Taj Mahal facilities versus what the NFL provides. What he’s doing now - His tough year, Twitch, playing video games, and we talk about that and the fun that goes with it. So you know, “bullet sponge” is a video game term. His thoughts on this year’s team. And finally, I ask Kenny this question:Do you feel you are one of the reasons that the blindside block is no longer legal in football? It changed the “defenseless player” rule. At the time, I called it the “Kenny Bell Rule”.He talks about what the refs said to him about that play. Then he talks about personal foul penalties that were called against Ndamukong Suh and what the officials told Bo Pelini. Are these all teases?YES. If you are new to us, we are SBNation’s Nebraska Basketball Podcast! We talk about as much basketball as we can!In episode 23 we have the third member of our tri-pod on to grill him about his great life decisions, his terrible life decisions, and everything in between. Many of you know him as SpartyOnHuskers. We now know him as Kevin.Kevin brings a ton of Big Ten knowledge to the podcast which is greatly needed. It is always great to have “an outsider” perspective. Or at least an un-biased perspective of the Huskers. That is of course unless Nebraska plays Michigan State. Then he is definitely biased and we will have to discount everything he says. BUT UNTIL THEN...We also talk about the decommit of D’Andre Davis. Why? What happened? Who is to blame? We need to blame somebody. That’s how this works right?Nate also went to a basketball coaching clinic in which Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg presented. He tells us what he learned. At least what he is able to say as everything else is super secret. To end the podcast we celebrate Kevin coming on by doing a countdown of our favorite Kevins. Alive, dead or fictional. As always:Follow us on Twitter at @Bangs&DagsFollow Kevin on Twitter at @SpartyOnHuskersFollow Patrick on Twitter at @PatrickGerhartFollow Nate on Twitter at @nmchugh85Please Subscribe!!!!! We’re all in misery together. After such confidence, thinking the Huskers would go to Minnesota and retain the $5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy, we were humbled when the Golden Gophers thumped us 34-7 on a cold and rainy October night. At one point they (the Gophers, Pronouns Pal) had more than doubled our rushing production, gaining over 300 yards on the ground to our 150. That was while the game was still going on and I didn’t look up stats afterwards. But this episode of Over-Reaction has Greg Mehochko and Evan Wiebe lamenting the newest loss for the Huskers, what could be the cause (or causes), and looking ahead. Listen and wait for that ray of hope at the end. BECAUSE I MADE SURE THERE WAS A RAY OF HOPE AT THE END!!!  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

This week on the Five Heart Podcast, Jon and Greg discuss the win over Northwestern, the highs and the lows found therein. The guys also take a few minutes to preview the game against Minnesota this weekend. But the highlight of the show is the conversation with Luke Peterson from the $5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy Coalition (my word, not theirs). With the trophy on the line once again this weekend, the Chair Trophy fund raiser is in full swing, and it's up to you, Husker Nation, to ensure a fund-raising win for the Big Red. Make your way to their website (www.brokenchairtrophy.com) to pledge your support while making a donation to Team Jack. There's a fund-raising event at the Mall of America tonight, complete with the Nebraska Pep Band. More information can be found here. It this weeks episode our heroes find out about Nebraska’s super secret scrimmage against....well, you will have to listen to find out. All we will in here is that it will take place in October. Also, it will be in the Midwest and a night game. Okay, I’ve said too much. We also dive into our top five favorite fast food joints that are scattered across the land. Some you make like and others you may loathe. Listen and tell us which ones we are right about and which ones we are wrong about. Also, comment on your favorite fast food restaurants and maybe we will give you a shout out on next weeks episode. Finally, Qdoba and Chipotle are the same place. Feel free to @ us. You will be wrong. As always: Follow us on Twitter at @Bangs&DagsFollow Patrick on Twitter at @PatrickGerhartFollow Nate on Twitter at @nmchugh85Please Subscribe!!!!! This episode I bring back Matt Brown to talk about California law SB 206. SB 206 is the law that allows NCAA student-athletes the ability to make money off NIL, Name, Image, and Likeness. The NCAA thinks this will kill the sport. Will it? There are unintended consequences to this law. What are they? Matt and I talk through this, and trust me, Matt is much more the expert than I am.  Learn more about your ad choices. HeyoooooIt was a win, so this week you at least get more reaction than just me, Jon, on the postgame reaction. 13-10 isn’t much, is it? Is it? What did you expect the world to be? Michigan won 10-3 over Iowa earlier. Perhaps this is the way Big Ten football is mean to be, and you do not get to change the rules.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

This week on the Five Heart Podcast, we try to talk about the loss to Ohio State, but it still sucks. We get through it as quickly as we can while we ask some important questions:What loss hurt worse, Ohio State or Colorado? How many wins would it take to make this fan base happy? Then the guys take a look at Northwestern, who will be in Lincoln this weekend. Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830. For once we have some good Nebrasketball information for your listening pleasure. Not that we normally don’t, its just getting better and this episode shows it. Nate went to “Fan Night” last Friday and gives us his thoughts on the players that night along with the fan experience. Nebraska lost a top in state recruit to the most boring of basketball teams, Wisconsin. We lament this loss and discuss why we think he went to the land of cheese and cholesterol. Big Ten Basketball Media day and the preseason conference rankings were also brought up. This lead to a conversation over leadership on the court. Then for some reason one of the two brought up Michael Jordan. So that mean the other one had to bring up Lebron James. No, they didn’t get anywhere but they both seem pleased with their arguments. Finally, our Top 5 cities in the world (well, ended up being just the U.S.A.) Learn more about your ad choices.
