This week on the Five Heart Podcast, Greg and Jon are joined by Paul Dalen to discuss the news and notes of Husker athletics. The guys talk about the arrests of two indefinitely suspended Huskers. Also on the docket, Nebraska Football - did the stats lie to us? Among the other topics of conversation, Greg is young but not too young to remember Superman III (the Richard Pryor one). And Paul thinks Marvel is better than DC, er go Paul is wrong. (Agree or disagree? Paul wants to know in the comments.)And there's a cameo appearance by one of the Internet's first celebrities. Like our beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, the three man weave couldn’t muster themselves to get past half-court on this one, and thus Patrick and Kevin joined together to lament the miseries of the season of late free from the presence of our Creighton Bluejays graduate team member. Before the sadness was a tribute to the cathedral of college basketball, the pilgrimage site of college hoops, the one, the only, the Palestra. Kevin briefly recaps his visit to the holy site of college ball in 2016 in the introductory discussion of college parity and constant defeat facing teams so far this season.A recap of the brutal 1-80 brawl/pitch-forkery/battle of rivalry with Creighton follows. Then the Scott Frost dream weekend schedule break-down follows as we get ready to face the Indiana Hoosiers and Purdue Boilermakers this upcoming weekend. Finally, the Butler Bulldogs took on the Baylor Bears as one of the few remaining unbeatens left this season. As the waning seconds of the podcast and their game ticked to zero, did either escape unscathed? Greg and I get on the internets and talk to:Beth - about the volleyball weekend that was. Nebraska caused fan fits all over, and I admit I was rooting for Creighton just a little bit against Minnesota.
Kevin - about the wonder of Nebraska vs Creighton in basketball, about this team, when they’re going to come together, how they can miss so many free throws and whether or not this young team really understands the rivalry with the Bluejays.
Ourselves - the COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF teams were released. Was there controversy? What about the bowls? What would have happened if Ohio State would have lost to Wisconsin? Will a warm-weather team ever come North for a playoff game?
We’re still doing overreactions despite Nebraska’s football season coming to an end. The world hasn’t ended! Life is going on, and so are we!We just need a good name for this damned thing. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

This week on the Five Heart Podcast, Greg, Jon, and Hoss talk about the fifth-straight loss to that team from the east. Five straight. In a game we should have won. But the second half of the show is spent talking about a good Nebraska athletic program, the #5-overall seed in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament which starts today. Beth Merrigan returns to talk volleyball. Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830.
