Back on a Wednesday night, because life happens. Last Saturday night saw Nebraska come up just short of Purdue, 43-37.I said it after the game that while the faces are the same (with the exception of IGC), this is 100% a different team than the one that flew to Ireland back in August. This team continues to fight. This team is scoring a lot of points (THOMPSON TO PALMER) and this team, I feel, is on the right trajectory. But boy howdy, did Aiden O'Connell have himself a day as well.In this episode, Jon, Greg, and Dr. Offense will talk about Purdue game, where the team is at after seven games, and where they are headed. We were supposed to do a live show, but our provider Restream was down, so after repeated tries, we fell back to the old, reliable Zoom and did a podcast.Greg, Hoss, and I review the Rutgers game. There’s a lot of talk about the offensive line, the struggles, the reasons why, the players, and it’s all enough to make a Husker fan weep.Hoss talks about the offense and the difference between “bland” and “simple”.What do we have to do to beat the Boilermakers? Hoss goes over keys.We preview Purdue, give our predictions, and we finished a fairly short episode. Here’s the key takeaway:Earlier this year, Hoss stated, “Purdue will mop the floor with us.” I agreed.Do we feel different now?Maybe you listen to the show!!!!!And leave us comments! Jon & Todd had their Monday Night Therapy session! Were you there? Were you with us live?If not, you can watch later, and leave us some comments, give us some likes on YouTube, subscribe to our channel, etc. etc. etc.Todd and I had a great ol’ time discussing:Nebraska’s win over Rutgers - our beloved Huskers held together and let another team be stupid!
Wisconsin smashes Northwestern - The Wildcats are quiet quitting
Texas crushed Oklahoma - I have no idea what the Sooners are doing
Everyone who beat Nebraska is a combined 1-11 since because of the curse of Scott Frost
At least we’re not Iowa. Seriously. The Kirk/Brian Ferentz situation should be cause for firing someone but...
Depth chart changes - Tommi Hill is now a receiver. Bryce Benhart is a sophomore. Rahmir Johnson has barely played this season. I have no idea what we’re doing with our roster.
Rutgers fired their offensive coordinator after the Nebraska game
The fact that Matt Rhule looks like an ewok and do you really want a coach who looks like an ewok?
A lot of time on: What can be done to fix the offensive line?
A fair amount of time on: What about Purdue?

No fancy titles this time around. Our Head of Creative (Jon) is taking the week off. That makes sense. He pretty much carried us last week when Greg was unavailable and Hoss had family obligations. And in the meantime, Nebraska won a Big Ten game. How about that?!? Huskers are tied atop the Big Ten West and look to maintain momentum when they host Rutgers Friday night.Hoss and “Craig” will discuss the win against the Hoosiers, where the team seemed to get some traction and areas where they shot themselves in the foot. But pitching a shutout in the second half didn’t hurt!As always, the guys will keep eyes on your comments and your questions, so make sure you join us tonight at 8:30pm Central for the best live fan-driven Cornhusker show prime time has to offer. Jon & Todd’s Monday Night Therapy Session will discuss: Nebraska’s win over Indiana
The Suckage that is the Big Ten West
Chryst being fired at Wisconsin
Why some people are perfectly fine with high-stress jobs and living in a fishbowl
Did you know that Todd was a high school principal at three different towns? He was! He did it for 23 years. I asked Todd about why he would take a job where he knew he would be a target. There are so many people complaining about Nebraska’s job requiring someone to “live in a fishbowl”, or deal with high stress situations. Some people see jobs with high stress and high profiles as a challenge, and they’re more than happy to take those jobs because they’ll get to be a savior and/or a miracle worker if they are successful. Todd gives us some insight as to why someone would do that. We also talk about “fit”- as in knowing where you fit into an organization, or why a person might be the right fit for one role but not another. We had a show!Todd and I got together and discussed a wide range of topics, including:- What did the Big Ten do during Nebraska’s bye week.
- Adrian Martinez’ big day against Oklahoma
- Depth chart changes: Not as extensive as we thought
- Nebraska is favored against Indiana!
Baseball - Our beloved Huskers beat UNO Saturday in fall ball
Volleyball - The #3 team in the nation swept Michigan State, then beat Ohio State (a team that beat them twice last year) in an error-filled match that went five sets
Todd points Jordan Larson and Jordan Burroughs are the best athletes in their sports in US History and both are Nebraska athletes

Yes, we acknowledge and apologize for the shift in the schedule. We will meet again on Thursday night next week. This week on the show, we recap Mickey Joseph's first game at the helm, the dismal loss to #6 Oklahoma. We will talk about, among other things, unfair comparisons to a top ten Oklahoma team and a Sun Belt team that beat Nebraska the week prior.Hoss will have some plays broken down for us. It would be nice if they were offensive plays from Nebraska's first and most successful drive, but they're like Sooner scores. We'll talk about Brent Venables, a real good mensch. It's the bye week, and HCMJ says this week is Nebraska vs Nebraska. Time to return to physical Nebraska football.Rome wasn't built in a day. It took at least a bye week. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
