Todd and I get together for an episode of the Five Heart podcast. It’s a struggle to figure out what to talk about this week.Should we talk about Scott Frost getting another year?
The firing of four offensive coaches with two possibly winnable games on the schedule?
What about the idea that Scott Frost wants to be a CEO - would this be easy or hard?
Perhaps it’s a good idea to give Frost another year so we are sure he’s going to succeed or fail. Frank and Bo never got this opportunity to fail as both were fired after good seasons, events that still fracture the fan base.
What kind of offense would we run if we could choose?
How can we win the next two games?
The college football rankings.

I did another Monday Night Live video, streamed on Facebook and Youtube. The subject this event was obviously the news about Scott Frost coming back for 2022, as well as the firing of four of his offensive coaches. It was just me this time. I had hoped to have one or two others on to discuss the Frost situation, but it wasn’t to be. So I went nearly a full hour trying to handle questions by myself. That was exhausting. I either need to figure out how to have a sidekick, a guest, or do a 30 minute show when I’m alone. I’m still learning how to do live. Learn more about your ad choices. Look, we didn’t intend for this to be another doom and gloom episode, but we also didn’t expect to get outplayed and outcoached (again) by Purdue. So we’re playing the hand we are dealt, and we’re damned if we do, damned if we don’t.There’s a lot of discussion as to who should be shouldering the majority of the accountability, and who appears to be carrying that burden. The guys also talk about the sellout streak, the offseason, and hope.Fewer tangents. Mostly on topic.GBR Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

I’ve been doing a live streaming show on Monday night at 7:30 PM central the past few weeks. Last night I did something completely new and had a guest.Ramzy Nasrallah of the Ohio State site Elevenwarriors.com joined me.We discussed the upcoming game with Ohio State, the Buckeyes season, their strengths and weaknesses.I wanted Ramzy’s opinion on Scott Frost. I was surprised at his answer. I thought he’d say something like, “If you want to be a powerhouse, you have to make hard decisions”, but he was not that guy.He advocated keeping Frost. I thought he made an interesting argument, and I’m glad he did. I enjoy having different perspectives on an issue.I’ll let you listen and you can decide for yourself. This Five Heart Episode is the 250th and it was meant to be a celebration. 250 is a decent little milestone. Sure, other podcasts have more episodes. Some certainly have more listeners. But for what we do here at Corn Nation, I’m pretty pleased by it all.In my mind, this episode was going to be something of an open-door policy with everyone from Corn Nation popping in for a little bit. But “life,” on in the case of the evening we recorded this, “Husker volleyball.” But I digress. We talk about some of the history of the Five Heart Podcast, and as the guy who’s been here since the beginning...it was an honor to relive some of those memories. We talked about Brian, and all that he did for Corn Nation. Then we got really depressed and talked about football. I don’t know how it happened. It was an onslaught of negativity. So the world is ending, Scott Frost is getting fired, and we’re going to start from scratch again.OR WILL WE?We have no idea.Thank you for being with us for 250 episodes. We’ll see how many more we can do before we call it quits like the Big Red Cobcast (whom I love and miss). Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
