Recent findings from a Twitter User indicate that Nebraska Cornhusker athletics from the big three respective male and female sports (two basketballs, football and volleyball, baseball and softball) are the highest national average for attendance. Most loyal and best overall fanbase in the country...that’s us!Also, I’ve been thinking about the Tunnel Walk recently. Alan Parsons Project’s “Sirius” has been the song to which the Huskers take the field since 1994. But did it have to be Sirius? Has anyone ever quoted the Joker in the past 15 years and asked “Why so Sirius?” (The Dark Knight came out in the summer of 2008.)Wisconsin starting jumping around in 1998 and Virginia Tech started bumping the seismometer to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” in 2000. So why did Nebraska take the Tunnel Walk so Sirius-ly (I regret nothing)? And we’ll jump in our time machines, go back to 1994, and see if there were any other songs better suited for the future national champions. Learn more about your ad choices. Our softball writer and overall mouthy dude Andy joined me for the show! We’re inching closer to the college football season and there’s still a little bit of news to talk about. There’s the Big Ten schedules released last week. Nebraska has some national champions in track and field. Rhema Otabor and Axelina Johansson are the first Husker women to win national championships since Dace Ruskule won the discus in 2006.Matt Rhule has picked up some interesting recruits lately, a legacy punter, an in-state defensive lineman, and a legacy defensive back. And there might be somebody interesting coming to the softball team! Someone who could make a difference! Then there’s slumgate, happening over on Twitter. My God people have a lot of spare time on their hands. Baseball: Pitching Coach Jeff Christy is out. He had been around since 2019. Rob Childress is in. Childress was the former Husker pitching coach from 1998-2005 and longtime head coach at Texas A&M. Get a T-Shirt!!!!The Man-Killing-Mastodon designs are available!!!! It’s friggin’ June! Come with your questions! That and Colorado appears to be headed back to the Big 12 along with Arizona.Nebraska had recruiting visits this past weekend. There’s this: It sounds like 12-14 days of team building! What types of activities do you think would work best for team building while living in a dorm? I asked ChatGPT and this is what that Sly AI came up with: Here are some team building activities you can consider for your dorm:Escape Room Challenge: Create an escape room experience within your dorm. Set up puzzles, riddles, and challenges in different rooms or areas of the dormitory. Split into teams and see which team can solve the puzzles and escape the fastest.
Scavenger Hunt: Organize a dorm-wide scavenger hunt. Create a list of items or clues that participants need to find within the dormitory or on the campus. You can divide into teams and compete to see who can find all the items or complete the hunt first.
DIY Cooking Competition: Host a cooking competition where each team is given a limited budget and ingredients. They must work together to create a unique and delicious dish. Encourage creativity and presentation. Have judges taste the dishes and declare a winner.
Sports Tournament: Organize a sports tournament within the dormitory. Choose popular games like basketball, soccer, or volleyball. Divide into teams and compete against each other. This can be a great way to promote physical activity and teamwork.
Board Game Night: Set aside an evening for board games. Bring in a variety of board games that encourage teamwork and cooperation, such as Pandemic, Codenames, or Settlers of Catan. Divide into small groups and have fun playing together.
Movie Night: Host a movie night in your dorm common area. Let everyone vote on a movie, provide snacks, and encourage discussions and bonding during and after the movie. You can also have a themed movie night, where everyone dresses up as characters from the movie.
Talent Show: Organize a dorm talent show where residents can showcase their skills and talents. It can include singing, dancing, comedy acts, or any other talent. Encourage participation and provide a supportive and fun environment for everyone.
Community Service: Plan a community service project that the whole dorm can participate in. It could be volunteering at a local shelter, organizing a clothing drive, or cleaning up a nearby park. Working together for a common cause can strengthen bonds and foster a sense of community.

Todd, Aaron and I got together to review the 2023 Nebraska baseball season. I started out by asking if Will Bolt needed to be fired, because the moment Nebraska lost to Maryland for the second time, ending their season, we received comments on the CN twitter account that Bolt needed to be fired. Todd and Aaron give their viewpoints on that question, and Nebraska’s baseball season. We discussed a series of questions: Was it a good year, bad year, or how do you describe this year in baseball? What does the Big Ten need to do to put more emphasis on baseball? Who will be gone from this year’s team? Who will be around next year? What about pitchers? What about the outfield? Who are the premier coaches in the Big Ten? What were Aaron’s favorite quotes from the Big Ten baseball tournament? MKM T-Shirts Are Available! Go get them at https://cobbycorn.com! This week on the Five Heart Podcast/Live Show, we can only hope that the Husker baseball game has completed by showtime or we will have lost Jon for the foreseeable future. As the Huskers were taking on the top-ranked Maryland Terrapins Thursday night, if not by 9pm Central, certainly by the end of the show we will know what’s next for the Nebraska baseball team. In the time since our last get-together, the the Husker football team has received a commitment from in-state QB Daniel Kaelin, who flipped from Mizzou to stay home. He was one of just two Class of ‘24 quarterbacks to receive public offers from Head Coach Matt Rhule. And make some room at the buffet, because there’s a big boy coming in, as Rhule and Co. signed Tyler Knaak, an offensive tackle transfer from Utah. It is a gabby show, but we did have a fairly animated discussion about NIL and people who can $8M and not really care that they just did. We also discuss Kevin Warren and Larry Scott and two terrible conference commissioners and whether or not the game of college football is being destroyed. Learn more about your ad choices. My friend Travis Miller will join us to talk about Purdue football. And maybe basketball and baseball. This is part of our continuing offseason coverage of Nebraska football 2023 opponents.Travis started SBNation’s Purdue site Hammer and Rails in 2009, then moved from SB Nation to Rivals in late 2022 as the new publisher of Boiler Upload.Travis and I discussed the 2023 Boilermakers.Well.... kind of.We started with their baseball program, which is in rough shape, but Travis points out that Purdue has never had much of a baseball program to begin with. Then I tried to get to football, but there’s this matter of the Boilers suffering what might be the worst loss in the HISTORY of March Madness when #1 Purdue lost to Fairleigh Dickinson. It had to be discussed. Then we got to football. Purdue has a new coach in Ryan Walters. Travis gives us his impression of what Walters has done so far.Purdue has a new quarterback, Texas transfer Hudson Card. That crazy legs Devin Mockabee kid is back at running back, and while they don’t have a “name” wide receiver, they had some guys with experience. This will sit well with Graham Harrell, AIR RAID OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR.The Boilers have issues at offensive tackle and in the defensive secondary. There’s the discussion of how big an idiot Kevin Warren was as Big Ten Commissioner, whether Travis is excited to have USC and UCLA join the conference, and playing night games in late November.Support Us!GET A CN T-SHIRT! This week on the Five Heart Show, Jon, Tweedy, and Greg continue to discuss the fallout of Dylan Raiola’s commitment to Georgia. Is it the end of the world? What does Nebraska football look like without him and what’s the general pulse of the program? Does Matt Rhule have what it takes? And how do Deion and Frost compare, if they would have met? One commenter says the better coach would have been in Lincoln. It’s the middle of May so we’re doing what we can. We’ll talk about the upcoming baseball series at Purdue. And even though it’s not Monday Night Therapy, we will absolutely make fun of Todd for thinking he could walk up to Memorial Stadium on Volleyball Day in Nebraska and get a ticket. And we’ll take your questions and comments and dissect Jon’s Man-Killing Mastodons logos. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In this episode, Todd and I discussed:- The Dylan Raiola commitment to Georgia. What’s it mean for Nebraska? Does it hurt as much as everyone might think?
Greg Sharp stated that Nebraska is at or under 85 scholarships
Bullock and Borkercher get scholarships
Nebraska baseball’s sweep of Penn State and the upcoming series against Purdue.
Nebraska Softball in the NCAA Tournament at Stillwater, Oklahoma. Opponents are Wichita State and Oklahoma State, and guess what? Wichita State is 4-0 against the other teams in that regional.
Nebraska men’s track and field won the Big Ten in convincing fashion, scoring 151 points, their most at a conference meet since 2004. Minnesota was second with 122 points, and Iowa was third with 120 points.
The Nebraska Women’s track and field team finished 3rd, but look at this:
It was a great weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska, going to the baseball series against Penn State. I caught a t-shirt, which I unwrapped during the show. And I tried to kill myself with a peanut.
Man Killing Mastodons design - I am currently working on getting designs done for a Man Killing Mastodons t-shirt. I showed one on the show.
I announced I will be setting up a Patreon. I would like monetary support for the college football videos. They take a lot of time and research, and I want to start building a budget for doing a better job with them.
