Yes, it’s Monday Night Therapy on a Thursday morning. It’s like the Big Ten having 18 teams. It’s a name. I’ll be doing this going forward - live shows whenever the schedule permits.
Dan Rubenstein of the Solid Verbal Podcast joined me to talk about the Oregon Ducks.
We had a good conversation about the fact that Oregon is going to be competitive on a level with Ohio State immediately as they move into the conference.
They have a NIL program that is well organized and well funded. They proved that this past year by picking up a gob of players from the portal to replace a gob of players that went to the NFL.
They are probably one of the top teams to be considered making it to the next college football playoff. T
hey have Nebraska on their schedule at the end of the year at the Big Ten Championship game and I pointed that out to Dan and I hope that he runs with it.
We discussed Oregon sports beyond football and they will be bringing a host of competition to other sports across the board.
We also talked about the future of college football with the house settlement and NIL and paying players and players as employees and Dan’s thoughts on that and then we also discussed what is going to happen when EA’s Sports College Football video game is released.

Please join myself and Corn Nation’s Aaron Rastovski this evening at 8PM CST for the debut broadcast of All The Right Movies, a show for sports movie enthusiasts.
Each week, we will review a memorable sports movie from a variety of angles. Of course, we’ll cover the plot, best scenes and lines, but also things like the music, comedy - intentional or not - the quality of the sports scenes, were there adrenalin scenes?, was there a montage (think of Rocky as the gold standard), and just how Ludacris was the plot? (Roll with me here.)
Tonight’s show is Necessary Roughness which came out in 1991 and starred Scott Bakula, Hector Elizondo, Robert Loggia, Harley Jane Kozak and Larry Miller to name a few. A former Husker also made an appearance, so I figured what better way to kick things off?

This week on Corn Nation Overreaction, Greg and Hoss are revisiting the September 30, 2023 loss to eventual national champion Michigan.
Hoss calls Greg out on his Kool-Aid consumption as he explains passing on the opportunity to attend this game, sit in the 93-degree heat, and watch the Huskers get their brains bashed in 45-7.
Joshua Fleeks provides Nebraska’s only score late in the contest as JJ McCarthy and Blake Corum have a field day at Memorial Stadium. And the guys compare the 2023 loss to the 2021 loss, which Hoss describes as “the best offensive game plan of the Scott Frost era.”
Members get the show 24 hours before everyone else, so if you’re looking for another reason to hang out with the cool kids, there’s one.

The Five Heart Podcast is a popular show dedicated to Nebraska Cornhuskers sports, offering insightful analysis and lively discussions on all things related to Husker athletics.
One of the recent highlights has been the stellar performance of Adrian Martinez in the United Football League. As the UFL MVP, Martinez has his team poised to play for the UFL championship on Father’s Day.
A loyal listener reached out to inform us of the Hall of Fame induction this weekend of Joy T Berquist. Berquist played in the first ever game at Memorial Stadium over a century ago. He was said to be one of the most powerful men ever to play on the line at Nebraska, and he parlayed that into an NFL career. Post-football, Joy became a lawyer and judge before passing away at the age of 40!
The podcast also explores the unique scenario of former Huskers facing each other in Major League Baseball. Wednesday night’s starters in the game between the Braves and Orioles sees Spencer Schwellenbach face former Husker teammate Cade Povich. How often of an occurrence is this and how did the match-up go?

Washington is joining the Big Ten Conference. Nebraska doesn’t play Washington kn the 2024 football season, but I’d like us to have the chance to find out about our new conference mates.
The Huskies had an amazing season in 2023. They went undefeated, winning the Pac-12 for the last time in it’s existence.
They made it to the college football playoffs and the National Championship game where they lost to Michigan 34 - 13.
Then their coach, Kalen Deboer, left for Alabama to replace a retiring Nick Saban. Then a lot of their winning team left.
We’re going to find out what a Washington guy thinks about joining the brand new conference and leaving their closest in-state rival behind to die in a ditch.
What does the future hold for Washington in the Big Ten?
What sports besides football do they care about? What sports besides football are they good at?
This is your chance to learn.

This week on the Corn Nation Overreaction Revisits Podcast, Greg and Hoss look back at the Week 4 2023 game between Nebraska and Louisiana Tech.
Nebraska secured a solid 28-14 win, driven by their strong run defense and effective pressure on the quarterback. Despite losing two of their top running backs to injuries, Nebraska managed to leverage their ground game against Louisiana Tech's weaker defense. The Huskers' ability to contain Louisiana Tech's air-raid offense and capitalize on their own running strengths were critical to their success.
You and I know what's coming next week, so let's enjoy this one, okay?

Tonight on the Five Heart Podcast we have a lot to cover as we dive into the month of June. We will wrap up Nebraska Baseball tonight as a fan base. Also, even though it’s the off season, Rhule and staff aren’t taking time off.
June is when Nebraska Football really makes some moves in recruiting and camps. Speaking of recruiting, we have some new commits we are excited to share, 4 star Running Back Jamarion Parker and an Offensive Tackle with a wing span of 6’11”.
Nebraska athletics are showing the rest of college sports how it’s done when it comes to the docuseries “Chasing 3”. We will discuss all the priceless nuggets of information as a fan base tonight. Everything from new headsets to the very personal experiences some of beloved Huskers have shared.
Lastly, please join us to celebrate Nebraska Baseball! Even though our last game got away from us this past weekend. Our Huskers showed that they have what it takes to be contenders by scoring 11 runs. Great job this year guys and as always, GO BIG RED!

This week’s Five Heart episode takes place on Greg’s wedding anniversary, so we are not 100% certain if he will be there. Now I’m not a betting man, but I’d bet on Greg being on the show.
We’ll get you updated on the recruiting situation. We’ll share what we know (and what we think) about the announced super sports streaming platform Venu Sports, the app that will house live sports from FOX, ESPN, and Warner Bros.
A few months back, we saw the first domino fall when the Husker men’s basketball team had a tremendous season. The wrestling team competed for a conference title, and this past weekend we saw the baseball team win its first Big Ten Championship. Does this string of success bode well for the football team? Or is that just conjecture?
This is also the show where we’re combing through our music catalogs to see if there’s anything that can match AC/DC’s Thunderstruck for that night game light show.

It’s what you’ve always wanted. Going back to talk about a Nebraska football victory.
(Apparently talking more about the Minnesota and Colorado games caused unintended heartache among the populous.)
In Week 3, Nebraska hosted the Huskies of Northern Illinois. It would be the first of a state-wide sweep of the Land of Lincoln, as the HuskERS emerged victorious in Head Coach Matt Rhule’s regular season debut in Memorial stadium.
This week, Hoss and Greg take an emotionally detached look at the victory, what went right for Nebraska and how they would use that win to build on future success.

Nebraska baseball got drubbed, badly, in their first game of the Big Ten tournament by Ohio State 15-2.
They then went on a tear, winning the whole damned thing, earning Nebraska’s first Big Ten Baseball tournament win in school history.
Will Bolt and his B1G Champions are headed to Stillwater for the NCAA Regional Tournament and will face the Florida Gators in the first round.
The second seeded Cornhuskers are also joined by the host Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Niagara Purple Eagles. Oklahoma State blew through the Big 12 conference tournament, and Niagara won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
