Connor from Corn Crazed will stop by tonight on Monday Night Therapy as we ask ourselves, where do we go from here?
No doubt we’ll be discussing the Nebraska-Indiana debacle and what Nebraska fans should think about the rest of the season ahead.
Does Nebraska still have a chance to make a bowl game even with so many games left on the schedule? Is everything lost? Should everyone go into despair? What needs to be burned down? What needs to be burned up?
Is the universe conscience or is it really just a bunch of lifeless matter floating around, expanding while we speak?
All that and more on tonight’s Monday Night Therapy.

56-7
I could end the description right there, but Jon says that “150 words or it doesn’t get picked up by search engines.” So be prepared for word salad to last another 119 words.
Epic, systemic failure. Both teams had a bye week heading into this game. Only one team seemed prepared for the contest. The lack of preparation can not be understated. In his post-game press conference, Matt Rhule said “I didn’t see this coming. I thought we were going to play great.”
This is, in my opinion, the first crack in the armor of Matt Rhule, who said “it was bad football by us.” He was embarrassed, not in the players, but in the level of football.
This will be a turning point for the program under Rhule. We will look back at October 19, 2024 and look at is as a galvanizing moment where the ship was righted and real change started to take place. OR the loss to Indiana on their homecoming will be the beginning of the end for this staff.
I hope it’s the former. I think it will be. Regardless, Rhule will be given another year and a half to get things right in Lincoln.
Jake is already calling this a spicy show, “guaranteed.”
Hoss is getting more upset as time goes by and says it’s going to be an all-timer, a la Minnesota 2017.

What is this strange feeling? It feels strange but also really good. I think it’s what some people call “hope”???
Yes, as a fanbase, we haven’t dared have hope for many years. Not to relive the past decade but everytime we had enough enthusiasm to ‘hope’, we were taken out with a sledge hammer at the ankles, (å la Stephen King’s Misery) crippling all further dreams of the Huskers ever being good again.
Huskers are 5-1, the Hoosiers are 6-0, and both teams are coming off a bye week. Saturday will be the showdown in Bloomington Indiana at 11 am central. Nebraska is the “underdog” this week with Indiana being a -6.5 favorite.
The Cornhuskers are very familiar with being the underdogs, especially the veterans on the team who came back for another year to prove that this team that began a rebuild last season is a WINNER.
Indiana, on the other hand, is in the first year of their rebuild. Curt Cignetti is a good head coach whose record at his previous schools shows he knows how to win. However, this is the Big Ten, and winning here ain’t that easy (just ask Scott Frost). This season, Indiana has defeated UCLA and Northwestern, both in the Big Ten BUT both are in major overhaul mode after losing their head coaches (UCLA this season, NW last season).
As Husker fans, we have been here before, it’s hard to drink that ‘Rhule-ade’ after so many disappointments but tonight we will echo the sentiments that Andy Dufresne wrote in Stephen King’s The Shawshank Redemption; “Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies”
Go Big Red!

This week on Corn Nation Overreaction, the guys have a plan to endure the bye week. That’s right, Greg, Hoss, and Jake bring you the Mid-Season Report Card.
The guys pour over each position group, giving in-depth analysis on where we are halfway through the season. What have been some high points? What areas have met expectations from the fans or the coaches? What position groups have fallen short?
Who have been the outstanding performers on both sides of the ball? What about the outstanding newcomers?
And if you’re a YouTube member, you get the episode ahead of the general public. That’s worth the price of admission, or membership.
We spend a couple minutes at the end of the show to talk about the upcoming Indiana game. So GO BIG RED!

Welcome to the Five Heart Podcast! Tonight, we will be discussing the win against Rutgers and what we have learned about our Huskers Football team half way through the season. Also, all the note taking that co-host Minnie Hunt has done, will finally pay off for one lucky Chatterfield as we see who got the closest to last week’s final score.
Since it is the ‘400th Episode Extravaganza’ we have planned a lot of fun surprises, trivia, guest appearances and a little trip down memory lane to help us honor you, the “Chatterfields” and the people who made this show possible.
For those of you that take the time to read this description prior to the show, we have a special gift. All you have to do is type “Dylan Raiola for Heisman” in the live chat tomorrow night during the show and we will let you know what you have won.
You won’t want to miss this!
GO BIG RED!

Tonight I’ll be talking about some red flags to watch out for Nebraska football for the rest of the season. What sort of things are bothering me?
I’ll give you a hint, they’re strategic and not tactical.
Then I’m going to counter my own argument.
That’s the first section of the show.
The second section of the show we’re going to talk about what an incredible weekend it was in college football with Texas A&M mashing Missouri, Vanderbilt having an amazing win over Alabama, Minnesota beating USC, Michigan watching their season go down the poop tube against Washington.
We’re going to talk about our opponents for the rest of the year.
So we’re going to kind of do a Big Ten mid-season review. Everybody else is going to be doing a Nebraska mid-season review. I’m going to look at what I have seen out of the Big Ten so far.

At least, that’s what I’ve been told. Hi, I’m Greg. I am the host of the Corn Nation Overreaction and my DVR stopped recording yesterday’s Nebraska-Rutgers game at the fourth quarter two-minute timeout. Nebraska was leading 14-7 at that time.
Did they hold on to win?
Well, you may be happy to know that the Cornhuskers have won their fifth game of the season, and it only took six games. (Insert appropriate response here.)
Tonight on the Overreaction show, I will be joined by Hoss and Jake to discuss all things from the Rutgers game. Notably, that defense that seemed to will the way to the win. It’s the only FBS defense that has not given up a rushing touchdown this season (although I know that by talking about it, bad things are sure to happen after this). But it’s not just that stat. We have other receipts.
Offensively, the running game plan seemed to be a hindrance and it took away from some truly special players utilizing their speed at the perimeter. But the Huskers found a way to A) win and 2) not lose!
I’m happy. Are you happy?
GBR!

After a huge win at Purdue last week 28-10, Nebraska comes home to play their last game before their BYE WEEK against Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Homecoming probably conjures memories of a chilly fall breeze through the trees with freshly fallen leaves and the smell of football wafting through the air. Mother Nature must not have received the memo of the Huskers playing their Homecoming Game this Saturday because the temps are supposed to be in the 90’s.
Besides the unseasonable temps, another unexpected but exhilarating occurrence is that we have a 4-1 season. However, with Rutgers 4-0 there is little time to celebrate.
The Purdue game showed us a Husker team that we can stay focused and keep grinding since all the points were scored in the latter part of the game. We also learned we have some dudes that can BALL; Ceyair Wright, Alex Bullock, John Bullock, Brian Buschini, Jacorey Barney, Barret Leibentritt these guys.
Tonight we will discuss the keys to winning on Saturday. Of course, there will be Long Snapper talk (as there usually is anyway) as well as missed FG’s and the mysterious calls from the black and white team-I mean Ref’s.
As always, we hope you will grab your favorite beverage and join us for what’s sure to be a lively exchange on Thursday Nights Five Heart Podcast.
GO BIG RED! See you soon!

Nebraska defeated Purdue 28-10 Saturday, and boy howdy, is there a lot of complaining about a team that is 4-1 so far on the season. So much negativity.
Granted, it was an ass ugly first half of football, but in the end Nebraska ended up soundly beating Purdue. The Blackshirt defense held them to only 50 yards rushing, 174 yards passing, and 10 points. That’s a pretty decent outing.
We will review Purdue, taking your questions and comments, BUT more importantly,
Rutgers guy Greg Patuto from our Rutgers site On The Banks will join us to talk about the Scarlet Knights. They’re 4-0, having just defeated Washington in their Big Ten opener.
It was a weird game. Washington ran for 207 yards, passed for 314, far surpassing Rutgers’ offense, but still lost the game. How and why does that happen?
We’ll have many questions for the Rutgers guy, and you’d better bring some yourself.

This week on Corn Nation’s Overreaction Show, Greg and Hoss are joined by Every Game Jake (formerly Big Game Jake) to discuss the first Big Ten Conference win of the season, a 28-10 win at Purdue.
Bolstered by a 21-point fourth quarter that included a John Bullock pick-six, the Huskers turned a 0-0 halftime score into a one-sided contest. But make no mistake about it, there is work to be done and improvements to make.
Greg, Hoss, and Jake will break down the game, from the abysmal first half to the redemptive second half. Penalties didn’t cost Nebraska the game this week, but that first half was rife with them, and that needs to be addressed.
