Of Bangarangs & Daggers Episode 51: Who Are The Bluebloods?
We’re back with another episode of Bangarangs & Daggers! We have a special episode for you all tonight as the full three man weave got together for this one. Last week’s episode briefly mentioning who the “Blue Bloods” of college basketball sparked a fun but intense Slack debate between the three of us we couldn’t help but spill into this week’s episode.
So, as you can tell from the title, we make our case for who the “Blue Bloods” of college basketball are. However, first we make our case as to “what” constitutes a blue blood. As for that, we generally settled on the following ranked criteria by importance:
What makes a “Blue-Blood?”
- National Titles
- Final Fours
- NCAA Tournament Appearances
- NCAA Tournament Win Percentage
- Conference Titles
- Conference Win Percentage
- Conference Tournament Titles
- Overall wins
- (Any or all of this criteria is thrown out the window when arguing about certain teams we, aka Kevin, do not like of course)
So let us know in the comments who you think are blue bloods of college basketball, and who you think are the over-hyped programs. Who is almost to blue blood status but still has work to do? Here is what Twitter had to say:
Lastly, be sure to tune in again next week for a very special interview with a former Husker! In the meantime, have a great week in between.
