Corn Nation Overreaction: Illinois Upends Huskers’ 400th Consecutive Sellout
This week on CN Overreaction, Greg and Hoss have the unenviable task of discussing the 31-24 overtime loss to Illinois this past Friday night.
What did Illinois do right? What did Nebraska do wrong? Look, this isn’t a finger-pointing situation. But there are clearly some aspects of the old ball game that need to be addressed and corrected. The running game needs to be adjusted. It needs to be flowered up. It’s too direct. We need counters and traps, pulling guards and pre-snap motion.
We do blame the officiating just a little bit. But it’s more of a schematic issue.
The good news, the silver lining if you will, is that we have confidence in Matt Rhule and Company to right the ship. As Hoss says towards the end of the show, “we are light years ahead of where we were a year ago.”
Have faith, Husker Nation, run the damn ball, and win the damn game.
